Forehead Lines

Forehead Lines

Forehead lines are often one of the first signs of aging.

They are seen as horizontal lines which may be in one or more rows across the forehead. The muscle found in the forehead is known as the frontalis muscle which acts to raise the eyebrows. For this reason, the frontalis muscle (forehead lines) and glabella complex can be seen as opposites to each other. Repeated movements over time through normal aging may lead to the development of forehead lines. The extent and depth of these lines is determined on a combination of genetic and environmental factors, such as sun exposure, activity of facial expression and smoking. This area can be treated often with multiple small injections of botulinum toxin into the muscle causing relaxation and a reduction of forehead lines.
