Implant Rupture

Modern breast implants are strong, safe and durable and last for many years.

Despite this, there are a number of reasons why women may choose to change or replace their implants. Implant rupture is rare and often goes unnoticed, however changes to the implant such as change in the shape and size, new onset of pain, and rippling may indicate an underlying problem such as rupture.

Removing an implant is quick and simple, but can leave the breasts empty and saggy. Therefore patients often choose to have their implants exchanged for new ones, or to have a breast lift at the same. Mr West will discuss all these options with you at your consultation.
