Chin Liposuction

Chin liposuction permanently removes excess fat from the under the chin and jawline via small, thin tube, known as a cannula.

It can also reduce the appearance of jowls. Chin lipo is the fastest, most efficient way to address the double chin area, and when you do an extended liposuction also along the jawline, you can make the face more chiselled. Even if you’re naturally slim or have worked hard to lose weight, unwanted chin fat can resist diet and exercise—which is why even fit people can have a double chin. That’s where chin lipo comes in. Your surgeon will make small incisions under your chin and, possibly, behind your earlobes. They will then insert a cannula, a slim tube attached to a vacuum, through these incisions. They’ll move the cannula through the fat layer under the skin to break up and remove fat, removing your double chin while contouring your neck and jawline. Finally, each incision will be closed with one or two tiny sutures.

Who will benefit from chin liposuction?

Good candidates for chin and neck liposuction alone (without a skin tightening procedure) have enough skin elasticity that their skin can bounce back and heal into its newly contoured shape after the fat is removed. At your initial consultation, your surgeon will assess whether your skin has enough elasticity to have a good result. A double chin liposuction procedure is also not recommended for people who are obese.

How long is chin liposuction?

This minimally invasive surgery usually takes less than an hour. It can be performed under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia.

How painful is chin liposuction?

You shouldn’t feel any pain during a chin lipo procedure because of the local anaesthetic, which usually takes a couple of hours to wear off. Local anaesthesia could last up to 24 hours, which gives patients post-operative pain control, therefore requiring minimal oral pain medication. Any pain during recovery is usually mild and should go away within five days or less.

How long does chin lipo recovery take?

It is recommended taking 3–5 days off work to rest and heal. You’ll also need to wear the chin-compression garment as much as possible for the first week or two.

How long after chin lipo do you see results?

You should see a difference right after the procedure but expect it to take a few months for your new, slimmer jawline to fully emerge from the swelling. It’s not unusual for chin lipo results to mature over months to a year

How long does chin liposuction last?

Chin lipo results tend to be impressive, consistent, and long-lasting. If your skin has good elasticity, your results could last for up to 10 years—as long as you maintain a consistent weight.

  I felt very comfortable with Mr Oudit right from the start.  I explained my problems to him and he was very informative about how he would perform my surgery.  I saw him before I had my surgery and I felt really at ease.  The pain after my procedures, revision abdominoplasty and thigh lift, was only painful when moving about, even then not too bad.  The pain went away gradually over the next week until it was barely noticeable.  Overall I would say it was very little considering the amount of surgery I had.  I felt cared for all through my surgery and after care.  Mr Oudit is a very caring person.  I would highly recommend him to friends.  I am really happy with the results.   I made a decision to have my left ear pinned back because it was very prominent. I made an approach to the local BMI hospital and was given an appointment to consult with Mr Deemish. He explained the procedure to me and I left the consultation happy and confident that he would do a great job. Two weeks after the consultation I had the opertation. The operation was performed under a local anaesthetic, I did not feel anything apart from the injection. My ear was dressed and my head wrapped in a bandage, I had to keep this one for one week. I had mild pain and discomfort but was able to control that with paracetamol. When the nurse removed the bandage and dressing to reveal the result I was amazed and delighted with the result. It is now three weeks since the operation and I have no pain or discomfort. My ear looks "normal" and I am really pleased. Thank you Mr Oudit.
