What Is Facial Volume Loss and Sagging Skin?

Over time, the skin loses elasticity and firmness, resulting in wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. Facial volume loss occurs when the fat and other tissues that give the face its youthful fullness begin to diminish, resulting in a sunken and hollow appearance. The natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin slows down as we age, leading to a loss of skin firmness and elasticity. The underlying support structures that hold the skin in place, such as muscle and fat, also begin to weaken, causing the skin to sag and droop.

What Causes It?

Facial volume loss and sagging skin are primarily caused by the natural aging process, which leads to a decrease in the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Other factors that contribute to facial volume loss and sagging skin include sun damage, genetics, lifestyle factors such as smoking, and weight loss. Over time, the underlying support structures that hold the skin in place, such as muscle and fat, also begin to weaken, causing the skin to sag and droop.   I felt very comfortable with Mr Oudit right from the start.  I explained my problems to him and he was very informative about how he would perform my surgery.  I saw him before I had my surgery and I felt really at ease.  The pain after my procedures, revision abdominoplasty and thigh lift, was only painful when moving about, even then not too bad.  The pain went away gradually over the next week until it was barely noticeable.  Overall I would say it was very little considering the amount of surgery I had.  I felt cared for all through my surgery and after care.  Mr Oudit is a very caring person.  I would highly recommend him to friends.  I am really happy with the results.  I had to have a revision because of the mess made by a previous Surgeon, and Mr Oudit has done a wonderful job.  I can’t praise him highly enough.

  I made a decision to have my left ear pinned back because it was very prominent. I made an approach to the local BMI hospital and was given an appointment to consult with Mr Deemish. He explained the procedure to me and I left the consultation happy and confident that he would do a great job. Two weeks after the consultation I had the opertation. The operation was performed under a local anaesthetic, I did not feel anything apart from the injection. My ear was dressed and my head wrapped in a bandage, I had to keep this one for one week. I had mild pain and discomfort but was able to control that with paracetamol. When the nurse removed the bandage and dressing to reveal the result I was amazed and delighted with the result. It is now three weeks since the operation and I have no pain or discomfort. My ear looks "normal" and I am really pleased. Thank you Mr Oudit.
